Prof. dr hab. med. Jakub Kałużny

Professor Jakub Kałużny Ph. D., M. D. graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Ludwik Rydygier Medical Academy in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Currently he's associated with Collegium Medicum Nicolaus Copernicus University in Bydgoszcz as the Head of Visual System Biology Department. His main fields of interest are diagnostics and treatment of retinal diseases and glaucoma. Between 2000-2008, Professor Kałużny was involved in the works of an interdisciplinary team developing a prototype device for spectral optical tomography. The prototype later became the first device of this type in the world manufactured under the trade name SOCT Copernicus. Later, he became involved in studies over the application of en face OCT in clinical practice. He is the author of over 80 publications and numerous presentations delivered during Polish and international congresses.
